Newly composed from the french dictionaries of the French Academy, Laveaux, Boiste, Bescherelle, Landais etc., and from the english dictionaries of Johnson, Webster, Worcester, Richardson, etc. Containing a great number of words not both languages now in use, as well as those, now obsolete, but employed by the carlier classic writers;- 2 The principal terms connected with navigation and military tactics, the sciences, the arts, manufactures and trade, especially those contained in the Dictionary of the French Academy;.- 3 The compounds of words that most frequently occur, particulary such as are not literally translated;- 4.
